3.5

Donna Tartt specializes in writing about flawed white leads. While The Goldfinch takes a more philosphical turn on the point of life, I believe her work with The Secret History better touches on her strengths as a writer than this one does. I found it meandering at some points and too fast at others. Enjoyable overall, but again I think not as good as her other work.
