An impeccable follow-up to None Shall Sleep. The characters are fleshed out more in this book, which raises the stakes. There's so much more about Emma's past and the case that brought her to the FBI, which is handled so well. We see her as a victim, as a bad ass, and importantly, as a girl who has forced herself to be strong in response to trauma.
Some Shall Break also provided more insight into Kristin, who is a fascinating character. There are still so many unanswered questions about her and Simon and their dynamic as twin. I also think this book did a better job of showing readers that Simon is just a psychopath. He played as charming and civilized in the first book, but his nature is further highlighted in this.
The relationships is where this book shines. Bell and Emma understand each other and the pull he feels as a protector, especially towards Emma is what drives any of the conflict between them.
I can't wait for the next book! (Which I'm assuming is coming at some point).
