Insomniac City: New York, Oliver, and Me by Bill Hayes

5.0

I love love and I love New York and I love books that portray both without feeling saccharine or melodramatic, that keep their sense of humor, surprise you, that live within small moments of beauty and connection. A series of little winks. That's NY writing at its best.

You can also tell just how fully Bill admires Oliver, and how mutually tender and playful their relationship was until the very end, and so now I love Oliver, too, and not only love him, but feel I know him, which is about as much as one can aspire to within a portrait of and tribute to your partnership.

Gorgeous. Off to read all of Oliver and Billy's other works, which I somehow have never done.
