It sets a fascinating setting and is very well-written, but the plot is predictable and the characters have no development. They’re striking and opinionated, but they’re blind to anyone else’s view. Also, the summary is misleading, because the water spirits accomplish very little and actively impede the heroes out of their own prejudices.
