Twisted by Laura Griffin

4.0

While I like Allison, she doesn't seem like a totally competent detective. That fact detracts somewhat from my overall enjoyment of the book. She makes what feel like rookie mistakes several times. Also, the romance isn't well developed in the beginning. There isn't enough background on why or how Allison develops her feelings for Mark. Mark's perspective was more clearly laid out.

Other than those quibbles, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was drawn into the suspense plot and liked seeing the characters from the Dephi Center again. Mark's character is older that usual (early 40's) and that makes his jadedness more believable and less like a RS trope. Once the relationship starts the author handles the development well.

Recommended for all romantic suspense fans. Laura Griffin continues to be one of the most consistent RS authors out there!
