“Dragon relationships are absolutely incomprehensible,” I murmur.
“Yeah? You should try a human one sometime. Just as vicious, but less fire.”
Divergent meets How to Train Your Dragon meets Hunger Games meets From Blood and Ash
I opened this to "give it a go" and read half the book in one sitting. I was pleasantly surprised by Rebecca Yarros's writing and immediately got sucked into Violet's Violent world (lol).
Is this War & Peace? No.
Do I care? No.
Did I want something entertaining that gave me some romantic yearning and angst with plenty of cocky banter and squeal-out-loud, kick-your-legs moments? Yes.
Did I get those? YES.
I'm actually bummed this will only be a duology vs. a trilogy (that we know of 👀) because I'm so curious to learn more about this whole world and would love even more time with some of the side characters.
Will I be rereading until we get the next book? Yes.
