Nur ein Sommer mit dir: Roman by Kat French

slow-paced
  • Plot- or character-driven? Character
  • Loveable characters? No

3.0

Initially I wanted to give this book 5 stars but it ended up being only 3 stars…

Why?

This was supposed to be a romance book but the author focused too much on the side characters than the actual love story.
I would have wanted to read more cute scenes of Alice and Robinson together but instead we always got a small cute scene and then a full chapter dedicated on the side characters instead. The author tried to give this neighborhood a “crazy” vibe but sometimes it was just too forced and it came out to be more like this: “Hey guys, see how “crazy and weird” we are?! We are definitely so exceptional and crazy”
The little few times where we got Alice & Robinson scenes, it always included sex. Either they were having sex or Robinson was making side comments that he wants to “undress” Alice. (Dear authors, I BEG you all to realize that when we say we want ROMANTIC scenes, it doesn’t include just sex…)
By the time Robinson went back to the US, the book went downhill… we didn’t get many Alice & Robinson scenes anyway so at this point I knew we wouldn’t get any more until the end of the book so it was just sooo boring and it dragged out too much that I didn’t even wanted to pick up the book anymore.

By the time I finished this book I was left dissatisfied, like something was just missing the whole time… (the romance in the romance book is missing)
