A siren who owes a fae king a lifetime of debts. Sounds right up my alley, I love a good fantasy.

The Bargainer is a cruel man, but with one soft spot for Callie. She always hoped that her relationship with him was a special one, only confirmed when it’s unheard of for someone to owe him more than one or two debts at a time — whereas she has over 300 to repay. Yet for 7 years, he doesn’t come calling once to cash those in. There are big reasons why, and I was fascinated to find out why.

There isn’t a whole lot of character growth in this book, but I’m sure there will be more as the series progresses. The underlying mystery is one I want to read more about and uncover what is going on.

Des is… 🤌🏻😍 honestly, the first time he called her a pet name (other than his usual one), I mentally freaked out. I was so excited. 😂

I will say, the mention of abuse Callie endured from her stepfather in the prologue almost made me DNF the book right away, but I’m glad I stuck it out. It’s only briefly mentioned a couple times later in the book.
