Malorie by Josh Malerman

4.0

You must read Bird Box first. This sequel picks up 2 years after Mallorie and the kids are forced to flee the blind school after an invasion.

Their journey is focused on traveling to find family members who’d been assumed dead but a clue has given Malorie hope.

I took one star off because as a sequel, it cannot stand alone. And the repetitive mention of memories about the family members is too much. There’s a rant when Malorie is telling off a “creature” that was a long, embarrassing and unnecessary rant.

But overall, a solid, and satisfying ending.
