Choosing Gratitude: Your Journey to Joy by Nancy Leigh DeMoss

3.0

I read One Thousand Gifts as well and enjoyed that more. My preference is “stream of conscious” narration as opposed to reading about how others are able to be thankful in their circumstances. I’m personally more impacted by going with someone on their gratitude journey.

I didn’t like the word “whine” being used so often in the book. I feel it invalidates one’s feelings. It is ok to be disappointed in the plan God has! His plan is best, and part of living faithfully means being disappointed but still trusting He loves us, He is a good God, and He is doing a wonderful thing.

Also, my interpretation of the tone expressed by the author is if we feel unwell then we are not being grateful. I agree with many of the points made in the book but I think there is a lack of space created for being grateful AND feeling down.
