Now and Forever
Sophie Love

When I was starting this book I thought it would be the usual where girl leaves boy that won’t commit and a job she hates. Goes to Maine meets new guy falls in love happily ever after the end. But I was surprised that even though she does leave the boy that won’t commit and the job she hates it is about finding herself more than actually finding another man. Yes there is a small touch of romance between Emily and Daniel but the stories main focus about Emily becoming the person she wants to be. Emily completely cuts off her life in New York and runs to her father’s old run down house. The books shows the growth of a woman who has been just going through the motions in a life that she did not really want to her to being well rounded, caring, and a better version of herself. The author made me feel like the house and Emily are connected, both need to be fixed and you see that as the house improves Emily herself improves.
Will say that I half read half listened to the book depending on what was going on at that time. I did not really like the audio book. I felt like the audiobook did not do the book a favor. I felt like in scenes where there was a dream, a memory, or a random town hall meeting the reader walked into empty bathroom and read to give herself an echo effect.
Overall I give the book a Thumbs up! I LOVED it and will be looking into more of Sophie Love’s books.
