It's a fun thriller with the requisite personally conflicted new agent, gruff senior agent, a love interest and a deadly serial killer with his own network. As an afternoon read this book is engaging, but during the book I kept on seeing this as a longer episode of "Criminal Minds" or similar such show. Almost like a pilot of a new Television Series.
I found the chapters about the serial killer were written well, but the chapters with the POV of the love interest were cliched as were the interactions between the lovers. It feels like the writer was afraid to push past the stereotypical interaction.
Don't expect this book to be anything but a fast-paced TV series novelization and you'll enjoy it for the entertainment it provides.
