I think the only thing I really need to say about The Bell Jar is it's a modern classic and if you enjoy sad girl fiction, you'll probably find this insightful. I couldn't help but view this book as the source material for some of my other favorites (I'm looking at you Sally Rooney). I found a lot of Esther's thoughts about her own self and her current circumstances relatable. It's the quintessential woman-in-her-twenties crisis book. If you're intrigued by the acclaim or cultural prominence of this book I would recommend you pick it up.
