blah blah blah.

This book was written for TV or after TV, in any event it did not work. The scenes were too abundant and choppy. The development of these characters were a farce and the quickwitted reprotie I have come to expect and cherish from Julia Quinn was nowhere to be found.

You are better off just watching the show. The priase that came from the colorblind casting of season 1 of Bridgerton turned this book into something it did not need to be. When whoever decided that Bridgerton was going to dive into the waters of race/representation in the 'Ton Quinn and Rhimes provided the thinnest, weakest, watered down version. This book could have been a rich wine in story telling but instead we got great value grape juice, a rushed project with little to no actual thought to how these characters would handle Black people being lifted up in the London society. Creating a fictional, thoughtless world where there were POC Lords and Ladies did more harm than good. This series should have gone the way of Brandi's Cinderella, told the story that already existed with POC not shift the story around to do a half assed job of making it seem deeper. The way Black women were potrayed in this book was handled with such shadow of care it can barely even qualify. I give books one star if I think they should not have been written and that is how I feel about Queen Charlotte. This book was better as movie...

One last thing, the bricks were there, for this to be a good book but this entire books felt like a Freshman in college showing up and answering questions based on the rest of the class and not based on the reading. SORRY IF THIS IS RAMBLING I JUST EXPECTED SO MUCH MORE.
