Batman: Detective Comics: The Rebirth Deluxe Edition Book 3 by James Tynion IV

4.0

I enjoyed this collection a lot, especially with Tim Drake’s return as a regular member of the cast. James Tynion shows off his love and deep understanding for the entire cast and the “Bat Family.” I think my favorite issue is the last that serves as a eulogy for Clayface. Making Clayface a heroic character and his arc within this series was a risky play that pays off. His deep friendship with Cass is unexpected but works so well. If there’s any flaw in this series, it’s that the cast is so good and full of so much potential, it’s difficult to give them all they’re due. That’s one of the greatest challenges of the comic book format.
