Leave the World Behind, by Rumaan Alam
5.0
Listening to this book was like watching a black and white film. Or a Hitchcock film. The suspense was a slow build and the dialogue was a little repetitive... but intentionally so.
When I started this, I thought I may be reading a book about race issues. When I finished this book, I realized it was more dystopian than anything. Like resetting the world, maybe? So race issues don’t exist..?
I need to do some more processing. I am surprised that so many people gave this title bad reviews because I think it’s the most thought provoking novel I’ve read in a while.
