Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie
5.0
This story makes me so incredibly sad, no matter what form I see it in. Movies, books, or otherwise. But that never stops it from being my favorite story of all time. I always know the tears will come at the end, but the adventure is so great that I can't resist. I become so invested in this story that I still clap my hands to ensure Tinker Bell lives. I cheer and crow for Peter. The way this story is written is unlike anything else, J.M. Barrie is ever present and includes himself as well as the reader in the story. I just love that. I'll never really grow up and I prefer it that way. Peter represents a life I'd love to have and for that my window will always stay open... metaphorically. I'd rather not have bugs flying in my room, thanks. And maybe my obsession for all things Peter Pan and Neverland makes me naive and immature and bias. So be it.
