Beautifully written story of the heartbreaking impact of Tibetan exile over generations. Also weaved into the story are shameful reminders that Western society cares more about Tibetan artifacts and trinkets than it does about Tibetan people. I particularly enjoyed reading Dolma’s story and the last section when she travels with Semphal to Tibet with her mother’s ashes. The ending was so beautiful and hopeful it made me tear up.
