Arguably 'better' than the first. Relative I know, but what I enjoyed about Home was how much of Binti's homeworld and family dynamic that we get to see. The details that emerge from this narrative really add depth to the characters. At times, the family dynamic hit a little too close to home, so to speak.
Okorafor does a nice job of building suspense as Binti struggles to unlock the mystery of her edan and the key to her heritage. The two are linked as we discover, which only serves to increase the family drama. The ending is definitely of the cliffhanger variety, so be happy the third volume is now out!
