It is a fast and easy read, but the writing style is juvenile, I don't like it, it's too plain. The plot is just so obvious and predictable, also there is nothing thrilling about this book, just boring. I hate every character in this book. They are all so insufferable and annoying. It was so ridiculous and that ending so bad, someone like her wouldn't want anybody else but her teach her son a lesson. Also, it was too easy. You mean to tell me that in over 5 years you couldn't do anything because he was always a step ahead of you, but now suddenly he became stupid, he couldn't see through your act, oh please! And how would the police let this go so easily? You can't tell because of Evelyn. She would have no explanation for it. And really after everyone thought that she was crazy and now they find her husband like that and they don't suspect her? Bfr. I don't believe. And you mean to tell me that a control freak like him, someone very observant didn't check the whole room? It was obviously a plot hole. He would have definitely found that pepper spray. Also after how much the fmc said that she hated her life in prison amd doing everything she can to not go back, she just goes and does the thing that would most definitely get her back in prison? Make it make sense. They should have never got away with this. Definitely not reading further in the series. Also supposedly it is very similar to The Last Mrs. Parish.
