The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
5.0
Ah, my first Gaiman novel. Honestly, I was trying to pick up other books, but I just got so intrigued that I grabbed this one in the store instead of the other book I was trying to get.
I don't regret doing that.
This wasn't a complicated read. I was hoping for an adventure, and was pleasantly surprised that I got that and more. Bod's growth, not as a character but as a child, was something that bloomed right before my eyes, and true to Gaiman's sentiment in the end note, it does have quite the Jungle Book feel to it (sorry, I'm a teen, I only saw the Disney version, so if it's far from the original, I apologize in advance).
Ghosts raising a living, breathing child? Count me in, man. Also, I'd be lying if I said I didn't cry by the end of this book, because wow, who wouldn't.
