slaughterhouse five is not what i first expected it to be. i knew it is frequently taught in high school english, but reading the book i wouldn’t know it. i love the non-linear time structure and the philosophical contemplations on fate and free will, and vonnegut’s satiric and witty tone makes this book funny despite its often grim settings (dresden).
