I finally decided to pick up A Study in Charlotte after having it on my TBR list for quite some time, and I didn't regret doing so. This book is a perfect example of my favorite genre. It had everything. Adventures, crime, love, and Holmes.
The storyline was laid out perfectly and it gave the reader time to figure things out and come up with theories along the way. There wasn't a point, where my brain wasn't working to figure this out, but I can gladly announce that I was right after being wrong way to many times. And the characters. I'm a bit sad, that the villain seemed a bit dull and didn't have that big of a wow effect to him/her. But the Watson and Holmes chemistry. Wow, just wow. I loved how the relationship changed throughout the story and how the friendship was built. They were truly a wholesome pair of characters.
Also, the Charlotte-part, where she explains herself after the ”real” story ends. Amazing!
I really recommend reading this book and I'm personally really looking forward to reading the next.
