Dynasty of Evil by Drew Karpyshyn
3.0
A solid finish to the trilogy. But perhaps too big. I got the feel that he was setting up for the future of Star Wars novels. And perhaps he did. Now that it's legends and not cannon, and I didn't read a lot of the other Old Republic novels, perhaps the things he set in motion were picked up on.
Anyway, my spoiler-y notes to myself.
With PoVs from Bane, Zannah, The Huntress, Set, Serra, and Lucia there were just too many for me. Especially since this was the shortest of the three books. I did like how he had both The Huntress and Set become apprentices. I did like how Zannah won the battle over Bane but she kept Bane's hand tremor. Though, I had to go to Wookiepedia to learn that it was only part of Bane's soul that survived his essence transfer attempt. I thought it was ambiguous. Perhaps Bane really one and was faking not knowing The Huntress. That would play to my thought this book set up future novels. It would also make sense for Bane hiding the fact that he solved the mystery of eternal life. I also liked out Set ran away and now there's a Dark Jedi, not a Sith, out there with Bane's Holocron.
