The Code for Love and Heartbreak by Jillian Cantor

2.0

I received this through Edelweiss.

I was really excited for this book, but the execution did not match the potential of the idea. The author relied heavily on source material, which did not allow this work to stand on its own. Emma in this version was possible autistic, which could work, had it been better integrated. Emma is known for her charisma, so by choosing to develop a character that is lacking charisma, you need to make strong strides to prove why these choices were made. The love story seemed perfunctory and at no point did I root for the pairing.
