I was pretty unimpressed after reading the first two pages. It reminded me exactly of a little known book that was made into a little known movie called Interview with A Vampire (anyone heard of it??? lol). I loved that book and movie and when I read those two first pages, I thought "oh boy, how unoriginal". First impressions can be SO WRONG!
I really fell in love with this book when introduced to young Abe. I was hooked right after I got past those first couple of pages. I am no history buff, but this was a great twist on history and made me want to read more about the actual life of Abraham Lincoln.
With the recent onslaught of vampire books that are more fluffy and romance filled (dont get me wrong, I LOVE those),this was a refreshing read about deadly vampires who rip people apart and a President who kills them!
