Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson

5.0

"On the side streets of the village, in the darkness under the trees, they took hold of her hand and she thought that something unexpressed in herself came forth and became a part of an unexpressed something in them."

This story is about people who don't know what the hell to do with their hands. There is so much heart in every character, a vibrant yet melancholy air to the streets and alleys - you simply can't look away as the sadness clutches your heart. Everyone in Winesburg, Ohio warmed my heart. In little towns people are actually made out of people. This is such a beautiful book that I will probably want to read again in a couple of years.
