It's tough to be the book that follows ACOMAF, but ACOWAR does the job.
Feyre is back with a vengeance, she's very different to the classic female main character we met in the first book. She's powerful, dangerous, and has no issues with killing to get what she wants, even though it effected her so much after what happened Under the Mountain??? . It did feel like quite a dramatic change of character from the last two books, but after everything that's happened, it makes sense.
I wish longer was spent on the war. It felt over far too quickly, with only a handful of battles it didn't feel like a lot was at stake. Hybern felt like a faceless force of killable footsoldiers, instead of something terrifying.
The action is great as usual. Love the writing style and descriptions. The plot was good, it felt like there was a lot at stake, and even though there was lots happening, I felt like I could follow along quite well.
I would give this an age rating of at least 16+.
Lots of questions remain unanswered, and it has definitely left room for more stories to be written in this series, which I look forward to! But you could totally finish reading the series here, it rounds off in quite a nice way. It feels like the end of a trilogy.
Overall, if you've made it through the first two books, you might as well read this one too! 8/10
