How to Kill Your Family by Bella Mackie

5.0

4.5 stars, rounded up.

I have absolutely devoured this, I found it quite literally addictive. It was so hilarious; I loved the authors sense of humour, a very dry, dark humour that probably wouldn’t have gelled with everyone but that I absolutely loved. I also loved how British some of the humour was; there were certain things I related to on a scary level (which is categorically not to be misconstrued as I relate to killing my entire family - important distinction). I mean, that whole section about Briony? Why does that feel so real? Mackie just ruthlessly tears our culture apart and it’s amazing. I also loved the writing style, the casual address, and Grace was such a brilliant narrator. She was so immensely likeable, whilst still being cool and edgy. I also loved the twist at the end.

I would totally recommend and I think I will probably annoy those closest to me for at least the next couple of weeks in nagging them to read it. So please, do yourself a favour and read this book :)
