Ariel: The Restored Edition by Sylvia Plath

Did not finish book. Stopped at 36%.

I genuinely don’t understand half of what Plath is saying and i consider myself to be a somewhat smart person. I see her genius in her letters and prose but once i get to her poetry all depth, meaning and coherency is lost on me. This is ironic, considering she’s known for being a poet but try as I might i don’t really see the value in her poetry. Maybe it was revolutionary in her time considering its themes of mental health and femininity but it gets lost in translation today.
