Like Tuckfield and Hunt, I read the original three Scary Story books as a child and like Hunt mentions in his "letter" at the end of the book, I had forgotten about these books until one day (as an adult) I stumbled across the Teasury. When I saw the Teasury, all the memories of reading the book and being freaked out by the illustrations came rushing back and I had to have that book.
When I learned that Tuckfield and Hunt had written/illustrated this tribute, I immediately ordered a copy. For the most part, I enjoyed the stories. However, Hunt's illustrations really hit the mark. Had I not known differently, I would have thought the same artist illustrated all 4 books.
