I didn’t dislike this book but I didn’t love it. It gets a 3.5 stars from me.
Hated Chris but hated how Amy acted and reacted to him more (except at the end). So many moments where I wanted to scream “girl stand up!” I don’t really like the idea of the girl giving so much power away to the guy and it affecting literally every area of her life and she’s barely able to function, loses herself, blah blah you get it. But the revenge at the end was *chefs kiss*.
I loved Jake. And didn’t mind the relationship/bond between Amy and Jake. You could see it coming but the buildup and tension was there. The end did feel a bit rushed but I expected that too. This wasn’t a story about their ending it was their journey to get there but I did want to see more of their relationship because that’s what kept pulling me in.
Overall, this wasn’t a book I just couldn’t put down but it also wasn’t one that I was going to DNF. 3.5 stars feels appropriate.
