This novel helps the reader think critically with respect to world-building. The format and writing style are unique as I haven't read a book in such a setting, I would like to read more of such books. The book is written in first-person POV with Piranesi as the protagonist, who later on learns about his real name and existence.

It's heartbreaking to know that Piranesi (Matthew Rose Sorenson) doesn't accept himself as who he was and detaches himself from the person he was before being transported to the other World. He constantly disregards MRS and is confused about his previous identity, wanting to go back to the World which he now finds most comfortable. The Earth is not familiar enough to him, but still decides on staying to not be alone anymore.

I would have given it 5 starts if Piranesi/MRS was more comfortable with his identity and his place on Earth. I was expecting a happier ending because of Piranesi's tumultuous and dangerous life and journey. Still a great read that will go by quickly and you won't know the time pass by.
