The Herd, by Andrea Bartz

5.0

Katie is an aspiring author who has spent the last year in Kalamazoo taking care of her sick mother. She has been writing and researching for her book and when something happens and her book falls through she heads to New York hoping for a fresh start and to join The Herd where her sister works. The Herd is an exclusive all woman’s workspace and just for a monthly fee you can join and this gives you opportunity to work, just take a break, relax, exercise, drink and use their own beauty products in the Gleam Room. This exclusive club is run by none other Eleanor. Hana who is Katie’s older sister runs the PR aspect and also their college friend Mikki helps as well. They all met while attending Harvard. When Katie arrives she’s blown away with what these woman have created. Along the way Eleanor has gained some enemies who feel she excludes them, like men by making her club woman only. The day she’s supposed to make a huge business announcement Eleanor disappears. Katie and Hana begin to investigate and begin to realize that things are not quite what they seem. Eleanor has been keeping secrets from everyone. Soon everyone becomes a suspect and maybe just one of them is hiding the biggest secret of all! I give this five stars! My mind was everywhere trying to figure out what was happening! I finished this book in a day! I loved the authors previous book The Lost Night and I highly recommend grabbing this book when available! Also I’m from Michigan and love that she added Kalamazoo into the book
