The Lie Tree by Frances Hardinge

5.0

Wow, what a book. I loved every minute of this book surrounding the mysterious death of Faiths father and the equally mysterious lie tree. But it's also more than that. Set in the late Victorian era, it's a book about secrets, lies, and reputation. It's about family dynamics and the roles of women and girls in society and science during this time period. About a young girl on the cusp of adulthood trying to understand the world around her during this era. I will definitely be seeking out more from this author.
