Desperation by Stephen King
5.0
This book, friends and neighbours, is one of King's scariest. That also makes it one of the funnest books to read if you are into that sort of thing.
It has been at least 13 years since I've read it and still, after all this time the characters, the setting and the story itself still reverberate in my mind. It is the sort of novel that has a lasting effect.
Book snobs will hate it, of course, as they are wont to do with Mr. King's work. King will be the first to tell you that he is more interested in the story than elaborate, intricate and beautifully wrought sentences. Thus, Desperation, the story itself is a pleasure to read.
