The Selected Works of T.S. Spivet by Reif Larsen

3.0

I enjoyed this, although it does get weirder as it goes along. The story is about a young boy who wins an award from the Smithsonian, and it focuses primarily on his journey to get their and receive his award. I liked the character, he was an interesting mix of precocious, highly-intelligent kiddo and at the same time was still childlike. The sidenotes, drawings and diagrams throughout were interesting and added to the sense of whimsicality.

I don't think this book is for everyone, but if you're up for something unusual I would definitely take a peek at it.
