Mystery is my favorite genre, especially British mysteries. Agatha Christie is one of my favorite authors. So I was happy to discover Ngaio Marsh, another writer from
what is considered the “golden age” of detective fiction.
(While she’s from New Zealand, her Chief Inspector Alleyn stories are set in London.)

This was my second read by this author, and second in the series. This book was not for me, I didn’t enjoy the characters or the mystery as much as her previous book, despite the generally positive reviews she received for her depiction of life in the theatre. Not sure if I will continue on with the series.
