Triple Trouble by Jesse H. Reign

5.0

Holy hot tamales. This book. Just like my beloved candies, this book is so spicy you need to mouth breathe for a moment to cool off before you get to all the sweet, chewy goodness inside that makes them so addictive and wanting more more more.

Running with this analogy, stay with me here … Will is the hard outer coating that’s sharp and protective while Mat is soft and sweet. And Trouble?! Well, he’s that addictive quality that they just can’t get enough of and keep wanting more more more.

I loved these three together and individually. They were each such distinct characters and yet melded together beautifully. Mat & Will’s obliviousness to the true nature of their friendship was absolute gold. And Trouble trying to stay unaffected by these two? God that was cute how he tried, but it was inevitable.

I love how Jesse is able to weave so much emotion into her books that initially may feel like they’re just smut-forward. It’s a subtle shift that isn’t always easy to spot, but the threads are woven so intricately that by the end you wonder how you ever thought it could be anything but a beautiful love story. (Well, the fact that I may have had to reread some hot af sexy scenes may invalidate that, but nah.
