The Guest List, by Lucy Foley

I listened to the audiobook version, and the narrators did a fantastic job with it. For me, this book lacks a key element: a character with one redeeming quality. They’re all miserable people, toxic bullies, or so self-righteous it’s appalling. I almost DNF’d this book in the first half, because it was moving slow and gave me the same vibes as Verity (which I also didn’t like). I am glad I stuck around for the end of this one, because I appreciated it once the story picked up. It requires some suspension of disbelief, but honestly, this is where the narration helped me out. Overall, it’s fine, and I’d be willing to try another book by Lucy Foley.
Graphic: Murder, Self harm, and Bullying
Moderate: Infidelity, Abortion, Alcohol, Child death, and Suicide
