Screwmates by Kayti McGee

3.0

I was hoping McGee would be the next Sophie Kinsella or Jane Costello but no. This book had so much potential and I guess, for some people, it could be funny but for me...all this talking made the story flat.

If I could describe the writing, it would be ''written by a teenager on the verge of adulthood''. There was too much talking, describing things, even though some things are completely logical. The heroine is a comic-con nerd, drawing cartoons/comics about a ''relationship'' with her roommate Marc, who is a history professor. There is much more focus on how they both describe wines than their relationship together. Seriously, even I know now something about wine. I was missing a special chapter for an epilogue (an epilogue was included in the last chapter though)... just, you know. I like prologues/epilogues being separated.

So all in all, 3 stars.
