This book incorporates rich cultural elements with Korea's complex history to tell the story of two girls separated by one Japanese soldier. This book does a fantastic job of informing and educating, but also of preserving the memory of the heinous crimes committed by the Japanese military against the thousands of "comfort women". This book truly fights to keep their memory alive.
