This book's summary makes it sound a little bleak: worried about being outed to his Muslim family, the protagonist runs away to Rome and ends up being detained and questioned by a US Customs officer. But the funny, smart and passionate narration and heartfelt story made it one I didn't want to put down.
Graphic: Homophobia and Islamophobia
Moderate: Bullying, Infidelity, Sexual content, and Religious bigotry
Minor: Suicidal thoughts
