うさぎドロップ 10 番外編 by Yumi Unita

This will be a review of the whole series and not just this volume.
I really liked the premise and execution of this manga. There was little I could complain about up until volume 8. The relationship of Daikichi and Kouki's mum as well as Kouki and Rin did not go how I wanted it to at all. The ending was especially problematic and I really don't think it was realistic. It was an expected and unnecessary plot twist unfortunately.
I can't understand why Kouki's mum kept rejecting Daikichi. It was clear she liked him a lot. Her reasoning really seemed strange considering she re-married in the end.
Kouki's and Rin's relationship too...I think they would have worked really well together. They were total opposites but in a way that they complimented each other.
It all seemed to be a convenient plot device to make the ending happen the way it did.
If volume 8 and 9 were written differently, I'd probably give this series solid 5 stars. Since 2 average volumes don't make the whole series bad, I'd say Usagi Drop deserves 4 stars because all the other volumes were delightful.
