Glory Be by Danielle Arceneaux

5.0

I'm not typically a fan of cozy mysteries, but I really enjoyed this one. There's nothing like a old absolutely Southern mama who is religious, judgemental, nosey as hell, but also happens to be a bookie. Miss Glory B. had me LMAO especially when she went to the club and speed dating event. South out to Cupid.

I'm from New Orleans, but very familiar with Lafayette. I recognized all of the places mentioned in this book. I'm always leary of listening to audiobooks set in or reference Louisiana because of the usually poor accents. Bahni Turpin narrated this one and there were no fake accents and minimal mispronounciatons. You have to be from her to know how to pronounce certain names, i.e. Atchafalaya.

My only disappointment is that we have to wait until 2024 for the next one. There is a preview at the end though and it sounds like its going to be good.
