Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty

4.0

elizabeth spends a lot of time taking care of her manic-pixie-dream-girl best friend, celia, who runs away a lot and has recently joined the circus. she is also juggling her divorced parents and has recently acquired a pen pal from a nearby public school (her english teacher is trying to bring back "the art of the letter.") the whole story is told in letters and notes, some from characters in the book and some from fictional organizations that elizabeth makes up.

i loved this! so funny and really sweet, but not in a cutesy way. super excited to read the 3 companion books.
