All The Kings Fall by A.M. Dunnewin

dark emotional

5.0

Finally, the last book is here! My goodness. I'm writing this about 10 minutes after finishing it. And oh, my, goodness. The emotion in this one.

Joss and Henrick have traveled with Callan to claim his crown, fighting against time and his brother Davien, who is basically trying to marry Callan's wife, Muriel, by force.

Aric is hunting down the Mask and his men so that the threat to them will be gone and they can have some sort of life without having a target on their backs. Tasks and paths intertwined yet separate, close but not together, constantly effecting each other with and without the knowledge of their actions, Joss and Aric can only hope to find one another again.

A major twist when the identity of the Mask is revealed throws everything into upheaval, a fight to the death is called and many outside of this are also killed.  The heartbreak was so real, and the way that Callan decided to go about what he did for Joss and Henrick was wonderful. The care that he took with them both physically and emotionally was both unexpected but fitting.

Once Joss and Henrick are back in Galmoor, settling into their cottage is easier said than done, and they're both feeling a bit off after everything. Each knock on their door brings a new, unexpected guest, but when will it be the one Joss has been waiting for?

A marvelous ending to this series!
