I loved Mac. I love that a man who grew up with an abusive father taught himself how to be a man women deserve by reading romance novels. He wanted to learn how women want to be treated and spoken to and he became the founder of the book club. He’s so sweet. He made it his mission to save marriages and he “bought a castle for a princess who didn’t exist yet” 😭 like please. I love him.

I loved Liv. I see so much of myself in her. Her trust issues, her sarcasm. The way she pushes people away when they get too close. Her fiery passion for justice.
Even her blind spot of unwittingly judging other women for not handling abuse the same way she did/would. I felt her righteous indignation in my gut when she called Alexis out for letting her work for Royce after she knew what he was like. Alexis DID put her in danger by refusing to speak, whatever her reasoning. I get her anger. I DO think we have an obligation to other women even if it’s hard for ourselves to talk about. So Liv’s blind spot is my blind spot too I guess, because I still feel that way even now. I would have had the same conversation they had but truly… I could never do that to a friend. If that’s what she needed to do for herself, fine. But she would also have to accept the consequences of that, which is the end of our friendship as I can no longer trust you to have my best interest or safety at heart the way I do for my friends. Loyalty and trust is everything. I don’t know how they moved past that plot point so quickly. I’m hoping to grow to love Alexis during her book which is up next in the series.

The progression of their relationship and their bantering and friendship was priceless and precious. I love them.
