This is like Buffy in literary form. It’s campy and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Pros:
Pros:
- Fast paced and lots of action, very entertaining
- Genuinely funny parts
- Likable characters with chemistry
- Great unexpected twist in the first 50 pages
Cons:
- I didn’t know this was a series. This book ends unresolved. Boo.
- They’re “just friends”… except they both constantly fantasize about making out with eachother. I would say slow burn except the flame never started.
- The Merle side story was boring as hell
- Side characters are all flat
- Lots of mentions of NYC locales and neighborhoods. I just resigned myself to not understanding where anything was.
Also Marco’s mom is mentioned off-screen once and never again. Does she exist???
Moderate: Violence, Murder, and Injury/Injury detail
Violence is abundant but imo it’s not graphic/disturbing.
