Don't go into this thinking you'll get something like Divergent. It's not. Chosen Ones is dark, more challenging, and definitely not intended for the YA market. From the beginning it almost seems like Roth is trying to make that point, so do expect some language, somewhat more human (broken, slightly unlovable) characters, and choices between bad and less-bad.

The story unfolds through flashbacks, reports and stories as well as the experiences of the Chosen Ones, and really seems to explore this concept: what does that mean? What happens afterwarss?
